Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water gin clear; 909.94'; 66 degrees:
Largemouth are very good along ledges and over gravel flats in 5'-13' using pump/grn. Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com), pump/grn. Senkos (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and crawfish Rat-L-Traps
(www.rat-l-trap.com). Whacky rigged 6" wtr/red Scoundrels and a 3" crawfish Super Tube (www.cremelure.com) will also produce around
stumps and laydowns.
Smallmouth are good over rock piles in 6'-20' using a Uncle Josh drop shot worm (www.unclejosh.com), pumpkin Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) and Sliding Weight Finesse Craw Fish
(www.slidingweight.com)
White Bass are very good with limits of 15" upriver in 2'-5' of water on Frenzy Pro, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads (www.cremelure.com) and live minnows.
Crappie are only fair tight to standing timber in 15'-20 ' using white 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs, 1/32 oz. blue/white Tube Jigs and minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 1019.23'; 63 degrees
Largemouth are good in 5'-12' feet of water along ledges and flats in creeks on Senkos (www.canyonlakefishing.com) , pump/char. Sliding Weight Finesse Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com), crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com)
& wtrmelon Snap Back Lizards www.terminatorlures.com). On those tough,blue bird days try a watermelon/red 6" Scoundrel worm (www.cremelure.com)on a Whacky rig along the same type of structure.
Stripers are fair to good from Shaw Island uplake along channels in 28' drifting live bait and trolling Curb's striper jigs.
White Bass are good in creeks and the mouth of the river vertically jigging a silver or blue Pirk Minnow and chrome Tiny Traps.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 824.99'; 64 degrees:
Largemouth are good to 7 lbs. in 4'-10' over sandy stump flats on crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), blue/char. Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), grn/pumpkin Snap Back
lizards (www.terminatorlures.com) and Whacky rigged 6" grape Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com).
White Bass are good, but mostly smaller males, moving up channel breaklines of the Llano and Colorado arms using # 3 Terminator In-Line spinners, trolling Shad Raps and Tiny Traps.
Crappie are very good (best during stable weather patterns) in 1'-3' of water using blk/blue/char. Tube Jigs, 1/16 th oz. chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
