Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 70 degrees; 1018.28' :

Largemouth are good in 8'-14' using post-spawn finesse techniques with a 3/16 oz. pumpkin Terminator Finesse Jig (www.terminatorlures.com) w/Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) trailers or pitching blue gill 4" Super Tube Heavy (www.cremelure.com) or pumpk/grn Senkos to ledges with brushpiles or laydowns inside of creek points. Topwaters like a white Tiny-T buzzbait or chuggers will produce early and late along creek flats.

Stripers are fair in 28' of water below Flag Island trolling white/chart Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and drifting live bait. Limited topwater action on Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Red Fins early and late along shallow mainlake rocky points. CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 72 degrees; 910.80' :

Largemouth are fair to good early in 8'-14' of water on a Carolina rigged watermelon Snap Back jerkbaits(www.terminatorlures.com), Fat Free Shad crankbaits and watermelon/red Sliding Weight Craw Fish

(www.slidingweight.com) rigged Finesse style. Early morning topwater action on chrome Rat-L-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Tiny-T buzzbaits over flats in 2'-5 feet. Upriver, pitching a pumpkin 4" Super Tube Heavy

(www.cremelure.com), Senkos www.canyonlakefishing.com) and wtrmelon Snap Back creature baits are producing fish to 5 lbs. along 10' breaklines.

Smallmouth are good in tight to steep ledges in 8'-20' using pumpkin drop shot Devil's Tongues, grn/pumpk Terminator Finesse jigs with Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com and rootbeer Yamamoto grubs.

Stripers are slow on live perch and vertically jigging white/chartreuse Hyper Striper (www.kgenterprise.com) jigs with their plastic trailers.
