Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 80 degrees; 910.35' :
Largemouth are good at daylight in 4'-8' on 1/4 oz. Silver Shad Terminator spinnerbaits, blue glimmer Snap Back jerkbaits and pitching a shad 4" Super Tube Heavy. Upriver, working a pump/grn Senko (www.canyonlakefishing.com), 1/8 oz. white/chart Tiny-T (www.terminatorlures.com) buzzbaits and pitching Whacky rigged junebug Scoundrel worms
(www.cremelure.com) along 10' breaklines around standing timber and deep-water laydowns is producing bass to 6 lbs.
Smallmouth are good to 3 lbs. along ledges in 8'-20' using pumpkin drop shot Devil's Tongues, 3/16 oz. grn/pump. Terminator Finesse jigs with Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) and split shotting pump. Sliding Weight Finesse Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com).
Stripers are fair to good to 20" along main lake points in 20'-35' burning a chrome Rat-L-Trap (www.rat-l-trap.com) through surfacing shad or vertically jigging white/chartreuse Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) with plastic trailers.
White Bass are good on lake points very early on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies, threadfin Berkley Frenzy and Terminator Snag-Less spinners.
Crappie are good tight to timber in 16'-20' on minnows, white 1/16 oz. and white/silver Tiny Tubes on 1/16 oz. jigheads.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 78 degrees; 1017.82' :
Largemouth are good early in 3'-6' of water using a white 1/4 oz. Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com) buzzbait, 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and blue glimmer Snap Back jerkbaits. Working laydowns and docks with a Shad colored 4" Super Tube Heavy (www.cremelure.com) and Whacky rigged Ice Tea Scoundrel worms is productive. Try cranking creek points and bluffs with a threadfin Berkley
crankbait.
Stripers are good in 30' of water below trolling white Hyper Striper (www.kgenterprise.com) jigs or vertically jigging a 1 oz. silver Pirk Minnow and drifting live bait. Good topwater action on Red Fins and Rat-L-Traps the first hour of daylight.
White Bass are fair along creek channels using 1/8 oz. Tiny Traps, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and white grubs on 1/8 or 1/4 oz. jigheads.

LAKE LBJ: Water clearing; 79 degrees; 824.90' :
Black Bass are good in lily pads in Horseshoe Bay using
wtrmelon Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) jerkbaits, Texas rigged wtrmelon Screamer worms(www.cremelure.com)and working a white Tiny-T buzzbait. Pitching docks with a watermelon 3/16 oz. Terminator Finesse jig with matching Uncle Josh kicker frog (www.unclejosh.com), watermelon/red 6" Scoundrel worms on whacky rigs or Texas rigged junebug
4" Disc Worms or a wtrmelon/red split shot rigged Sliding Weight Craw Fish(www.slidingweight.com) worked along rip rap on seawalls is sure to produce some fish during the day.
White Bass are fair in 20' deep trolling a #5 Shad
Rap and Snagless Terminator In-Line spinners.
Crappie are good over brush on red/chartreuse Tiny Tubes, chartreuse 1/16 oz. Curb's jigs and minnows.
