Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 79 degrees; 1018.96':
Largemouth are fair for the first hour or two of daylight
on lake points using a 1/4 oz. Blue Shad Terminator
spinnerbait (www.terminatorlures.com), 14 oz. Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and topwaters such as Chug
Bugs and 1/8 oz. white Tiny-T buzzbaits. Oce the sun is on the water you need to look for shaded areas along ledges where a Snap Back creature bait, watermelon 3" Super Tubes (www.cremelure.com) and Whacky rigged watermelon/red Scoundrel worms are productive.
Stripers are fair drifting live bait or trolling Hyper Striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) in 40' of water from Flag Island to the Dam.
White Bass are fair early casting 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and 1/8 oz. chrome Tiny Traps to feeding schools along sloping points over 20' of water.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 80 degrees; 824.77':
Black Bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), Silver Shad 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits
(www.terminatorlures.com) and watermelon 3" Super Tubes (www.cremelure.com) worked along rip rap at daylight. Later, a watermelon Snap Back creature bait(www.terminatorlures.com)on a Carolina rig or 5" Whacky rigged watermelon/red Scoundrel worms will produce on points with brush and boat docks.
White Bass are good at night and very early on 1/32 oz. white Curb's jigs, 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies and minnows.
Crappie are good at night under lights on 1/32 oz. Curb's jigs and minnows.

CANYON LAKE: Water very clear; 80 degrees; 910.32':
Largemouth are fair to good at daylight on main lake and secondary points using Pop R's or Chug Bugs, 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps(www.rat-l-trap.com), watermelon/red/green Senkos www.canyonlakefishing.com) and Snap Back jerkbaits in 4'-10'. Later Texas rigged watermelon or pumpkin Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) and single or twin tail grubs on 1/8 oz. jigheads worked along secondary points in 8'-14' will produce.
Smallmouth are fair tight to bluffs early in 10'-20' using rootbeer hula grubs and watermelon Sliding Weight Finesse Craw Fish.
Stripers are slow to fair in 32' on mainlake points trolling threadfin Frenzy divers, Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) with trailers and drifting live bait.
White Bass fair at night under lights using Frenzy Rattlin' Pro, 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishie and drifting minnows in 10'-20'.
Crappie are fair upriver in 8' tight to timber using Curb's crappie jigs, 1/8 oz. Road Runners and minnows.
