Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water gin clear; 82 degrees; 910.79':

Largemouth are fair to good at daylight on sloping main lake and secondary points using blue back Chug Bugs, 1/4 oz. chrome Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Texas rigged 7" watermelon/red Snap Back worms (www.terminatorlures.com)along 12'-20' points . Later Whacky rigged watermelon Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) and white 1/8 oz. Road Runners will produce upriver.

Smallmouth are fair tight to bluffs early in 10'-20' using rootbeer hula grubs (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and Smokin' Green Devil's Tongues.

Stripers are slow to fair along mainlake points trolling chrome or threadfin Frenzy divers, Hyper Striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) with trailers and drifting live bait.

White Bass fair at night under lights using Frenzy Rattlin' Pro, 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishie and drifting minnows in 10'-20'.

Crappie are fair upriver in 8'-12' tight to timber and brush using Curb's crappie jigs, 1/8 oz. Road Runners and minnows. LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 81 degrees; 1018.65':

Largemouth are fair at daylight along shallow ledges with grass using white/char. Tiny-T spinnerbaits, Pop R's and 4" wtrmelon/red Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com). After the sun gets up, pitching a 3/16 oz. watermelon Terminator Finesse jig (www.terminatorlures.com) w/ matching Uncle Josh Pork(www.unclejosh.com) trailer or Whacky rigged Scoundrel worm around boat docks will still produce a few fish during the day.

Stripers are fair drifting live bait or trolling Hyper Striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) in 30'-50' of water near the Dam.

White Bass are fair early jigging 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and 1/8 oz. chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) to feeding schools when you can find them.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 82 degrees; 824.62':

Black Bass are fair to on Rat-L-Traps, Silver Shad 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits and watermelon/red Devil's Tongues on split shot rigs worked along rip rap at daylight. After sunup, a watermelon Snap Back(www.terminatorlures.com)creature bait on a Carolina rig or 5" blue flake Power Worm will produce on points with brush in 14'-20' of water.

White Bass are good at night and very early on 1/32 oz. white Curb's jigs, 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies and minnows.

Crappie are good at night under lights and over brushpiles in 14' of water during the day on 1/32 oz. Curb's jigs and minnows.
