Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 84 degrees; 1017.25':
Largemouth to 7 lbs. are fair early in 8'-15' on 1/8 oz. Silver Shad Terminator buzzbaits(www.terminatorlures.com), 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps(www.rat-l-trap.com) and" watermelon/red Scoundrel worms(www.cremelure.com) on Whacky rigs worked around boat docks.
Stripers are good on Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com)and tightlining live bait in 25'-30' of water along mainlake points near the dam early and late in the day. Some topwater activity at daylight with fish in the 18''-22" inch range.
White Bass are slow along creek points jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads, chrome Tiny Traps early.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 85 degrees; 824.68':
Black Bass are fair to good at daylight and all day under cloud cover and at night using 1/8 oz. Tiny-T buzzbaits(www.terminatorlures.com), 4" watermelon Super Tube Heavy(www.cremelure.com) around docks
and diving crankbaits to 12' on points close to grass or weedbeds.
White Bass are fair to good at night on 1/32 oz. white Curb's jigs, 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies and minnows.
Crappie are fair to good at night under lights and over brushpiles on 1/32 oz. Curb's jigs and minnows.
Channel Catfish are good at night on liver, worms and Punch Bait.
Yellow and Blue Catfish are good on trotlines.

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 84 degrees; 910.11':
Largemouth are good at daylight on mainlake and secondary points on 1/4 oz. Frenzy Pro's(www.purefishing.com), shad colored Fat Free Shads(www.canyonlakefishing.com) and Texas rigged pumpkin Super Tube Heavy(www.cremelure.com) pitched
tight to trees along 8'-12' breaklines. Upriver, a white/chartreuse Tiny-T spinnerbait(www.terminatorlures.com) bumped against stumps and a 6" blue fleck Snap Back or Gulp worm worked through brush piles in 3'-8' will produce. Try a drop of Pro's Soft Bait Glue(www.prosoftbaitglue.com) to hold all plastics in place and prevent slipping and to repair torn baits like expensive Senko's, tubes and jerkbaits.
Smallmouth are fair very early along steep bluffs on 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads, Smokin' Green Devil's Tongues, rootbeer Hula Grubs (www.yamamoto.baits.com) and Uncle Josh(www.unclejosh.com) drop shot worms.
Striper: are slow to fair over humps and along main lake points in 70' of water trolling Hyper striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) with trailers on downriggers and tightlining live perch or goldfish.
White Bass are fair at night under lights vertically jigging 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies, Tiny Traps and live minnows.
Crappie are fair to good upriver when it clears in 3'-9' in brush piles on 1/32 oz. Road Runners and minnows.
