Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 65 degrees; 909' (Full) :
Largemouth are good in 4'-12' on ledges and creek points using smoke/red Snap Back tubes (www.canyonlakefishing.com), 5" pumpkin/chartreuse tail worms and 4" shad crankbaits. Upriver, working white/char. 7/16 oz. tungsten spinnerbaits
(www.terminatorlures.com), watermelon/red Pro Series
Bush Pigs (www.cremelure.com) and a blk/blue rattlin'
titanium jig w/Uncle Josh(www.unclejosh.com) trailer in trees and laydowns along 8'-16' breaklines can produce some of the largest fish of the day.
Smallmouth are good to 3 lbs over submerged rockpiles in 5'-12' on green pumpkin/chart. 4" Whacky Sticks and Senkos, watermelon/chart. Craw Tubes(www.cremelure.com) and a pumpkin/char. Craw Baby(www.slidingweight.com).
Stripers are fair to good on the surface on chrome/blue Slap Stiks(www.rat-l-trap.com) and white Hyper Striper jigs w/trailers (www.kgenterprise.com).
White Bass fair at daylight along break-lines of lake points on Pirk Minnows, Tiny Traps and Spoiler Shads on jigheads.
Crappie are fair in 8'-15' tight to standing timber on minnows silver Swirltails and Curb's crappie jigs.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 64 degrees; 1016.75' :
Largemouth are good along docks in creeks 4'-10' deep on white/chart. Terminator buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) watermelon/chartreuse Craw Tubes (www.cremelure.com) Series 2000 Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com). Other productive techniques have been a straight-tail Scoundrel worm rigged wacky style on 3/0 "K" Wacky Hooks (www.falconlures.com) and wtrmelon/red Whacky Sticks worked along docks on creek
points w/brush and stumps.
Stripers are very good along channels from Flag Island
uplake trolling 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and tight-lining live bait. Good topwater action using chrome/blue Slap Stiks.
White Bass are fair on mainlake points early using Spin Traps, 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows and Spoiler Shads.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 64 degrees; 824.83' :
Largemouth are good to 4 lbs along laydowns and brushpiles in 6'-10' using blue fleck Snap Back worms(www.terminatorlures.com), Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and black/blue Whacky Stick
(www.cremelure.com). Look for thick trees over breaklines and try pitching a blk/blue (Terminator) Pro Series jig w/Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailer into the middle of it.
Striper are fair in the shoals and at the dam using a 1/4 oz. white/gray Hyper Striper jig (www.kgenterprise.com) and Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps.
White Bass are good early along channel breaklines on Shad Raps, Spoiler Shads and Pirk Minnows.
Crappie are fair to good over brushpiles and on bridge pilings in 15' using Swirltail grubs on 1/16 oz. jigheads, white Curb's Crappie jigs and minnows.

Largemouth are good until 11:00 am along and over grassbeds using white/chartreuse Terminator buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and Pop R's.
Pitching and flipping a watermelon Snap Back creature bait into holes of grass is producing when the surface action subsides.
