Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 57 degrees; 1016.66' :

Largemouth are fair in 5'-12' of water on secondary creek

points on silver shad Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com)

spinnerbaits, Frenzy diving crankbaits & wtrmelon/red Craw

Tubes (www.cremelure.com) on light Texas Rigs.

Stripers are fair to good in 25'-35' along the main channel

at midlake trolling wht/char. Hyper Striper jigs w/trailers

(www.kgenterprise.com) and tight-lining live bait.

White Bass are slow along creek points and nearby flats.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 58 degrees; 824.87':

Largemouth are fair along brushpiles on rip rap and steep

channel breaklines w/stumps or laydowns on wht/chart.

7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten (www.terminatorlures.com)

spinnerbait, blue flake Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and chameleon/blue Scoundrel worms.

Stripers are fair under birds at midlake on blue glimmer

Snap Back jerkbaits, Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Pirk Minnows.

White Bass are fair from Apple Head to the power plant

trolling Shad Raps and casting Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows.

Crappie are fair in 15'-20' deep on bridge pilings and

brushpiles on live minnows and 1/16 oz. Swirltail grubs.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 57 degrees; 908.91' :

Largemouth are fair to good in 5'-14' at feeder creek

and secondary points using bleeding shiner Rat-L-Traps

(www.rat-l-trap.com) 1.4 oz. silver/blue Terminator

spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) and Christmas Tree Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com). Upriver, working stumps and laydowns very slowly with smoke/red flake Snap Back tubes and motor oil Scoundrel worms on wacky rigs using 2/0-3/0 "K" Whacky Hooks (www.falconlures.com) will produce.

Smallmouth are good in 5'-15' over rock piles along bluffs on chartreuse 7/16 oz. tungsten spinnerbaits, pearl Whacky Sticks and natural craw Baby Craws on split shot rigs.

Stripers are fair on the surface early using pink Snap Back cyberflexx jerkbaits on jigheads, chrome Slap Stiks and Red Fins.

White Bass fair on 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows and 2" inch Lit'l Fishie Shads.

Crappie are fair in 6'-18' tight to timber and brushpiles on live minnows and 1/32 oz. white Curb's crappie jigs.
