Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 52 degrees; 908.85' :

Largemouth are fair in 8'-20' on secondary points and bluffs on pumpkin/chart Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) on split shot rigs, pump./gold Creature Baits(www.canyonlakefishing.com)& pump/char. 4" Scoundrel finesse worms on jig heads. Upriver, working vertical timber & stumps along 6'-15' break-lines on southerly facing bluffs w/blue fleck Craw Tubes, Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) Creature Baits or Gulp (www.berkley.com) worms on jigheads produces good bass.

Smallmouth to 3 lbs. are fair in 6'-20' slow-rolling 7/16 oz. chart. tungsten (www.terminatorlures.com) spinnerbaits over rockpiles, pearl Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) Rootbeer/gold Hula Grubs (www.canyonlakefishing.com) & 2" Craw Babys'

(www.slidingweight.com) on split shot rigs.

Stripers are fair under birds on albino Snap Back jerkbaits on jigheads, bleeding shad Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) & Lit'l Fishie Shads.

White Bass are fair but small in 10'- 40' vertically jigging a 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnow and Tiny Traps.

Crappie are fair tight to brushpiles and vertical timber on live minnows and Curb's crappie jigs.

White Bass are fair around the power plant on chrome/blue Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-Traps.com) Pirk Minnows & Lit'l Fishies.

Crappie are fair in 12'-20' on minnows, Curb's crappie jigs & Fle-Flys.

Stripers are fair from Bluffton to Paradise Point tight-lining live bait & trolling white/chart. Hyper Striper Jigs (www.kgenterprise.com).

White Bass are fair in 20'-30' vertically jigging Pirk
