Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 49 degrees; 909.26':
Largemouth are good along south facing bluffs and secondary points on suspending jerkbaits like a rattlin' Rogue, smokin' green or pumpkin Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) on drop shot or split shot rigs & Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) creature baits. Slow-rolling a 1 oz. silver/blue Heavy-T spinnerbait through tree tops or using a hard jerkbait along vertical bluffs will also produce.
Smallmouth are very good to 3-1/2 lbs. in 4'-20' on all chartreuse 3/16 oz. Terminator "Tungsten" spinnerbaits, 1/4 oz. crawfish Rat-L-Traps & chart.
Craw Tubes (www.cremelure.com).
Stripers are good in 30'-40' vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, burning a white/blue Hyper Striper (www.kgenterprise.com) jig and 3" plastic swim baits.
White Bass are very good in the main lake on Pirk Minnows, Tiny Traps(www.rat-l-trap.com) and Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com).

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 49 degrees; 1015.81':
Largemouth are fair along mainlake creek points in 12'-20' using Smokin' Green Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) on drop shot rigs, Carolina rigged watermelon/red Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com)
creature baits and suspending Rogues. Working 3/16 oz. pumpkin/green Finesse jigs along ledges of bluffs is a great technique when bass are holding on these spots as long as water temps. are at or below 50 degrees.
Stripers are good above Garrett Island bottom trolling white/blue Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and tight lining live bait in 30' of water.
White Bass are improving at the mouth of major creeks vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnows, Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) & Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com).

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 51 degrees; 824.95':
Black Bass are fair to good in 8'-15' in brushplies along rip rap slow-rolling a Texas Red Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com)spinnerbait, suspending jerkbaits and pitching crawfish Craw Tubes (www.cremelure.com) or 3/16 black/chart. Finesse jigs w/Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailers.
White Bass are good around LCRA park vertically and the Sandy Creek junction w/the river channel jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) & Lit'l Fishies on jigheads.
Crappie are slow and small in 25' on minnows.
