Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake Water clear; 51 degrees; 909':

Largemouth are good to 3 lbs on along rocky points and ledges vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnow jigging spoons, working suspending jerkbaits parallel and tight to vertical bluffs and Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs over rockpiles on secondary points.

Smallmouth are good in 4'-20' on chartreuse 7/16 oz. Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com) Tungsten spinnerbaits, chart. Craw Tubes (www.cremelure.com) and 3/17 oz. pumpkin finesse jigs and Uncle Josh

(www.unclejosh.com) pork trailers.

Stripers are good in 30'-50' channel humps burning white/blue Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/trailers, 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows and 4" Lit'l Fishie Shad.

White Bass are VERY GOOD in 30' of water using Pirk Minnows and blue back Spoiler Shads on 1/16 oz. jigheads and Tiny Traps through surfacing schools.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 49 degrees; 1015.51':

Largemouth are fair in 15'-30' along bluff ledges and lake points on clown colored suspending jerkbaits, 3/16 oz. black/red Terminator Finesse jigs (www.terminatorlures.com) w/Uncle Josh pork trailers

(www.unclejosh.com) and 4" watermelon/red Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com). Pumpkin (w/char. dipped tails) or Smokin' Green Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs using a pumpkin Finesse jig in the place of a lead weight at the tag end of the line doubles your

chances of a strike.

Stripers are good at and above Garrett Island bottom trolling blue/white or white/chart Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) using their plastic trailers, and also tight-lining live bait in 30' of water.

White Bass are fair at the mouth and points of creeks vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com) and Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 50 degrees; 824.84':

Black Bass are fair to good in 8'-15' over brushpiles and laydowns on breaklines on a Texas Red Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com)spinnerbait, watermelon/red Big Pigs (www.cremelure.com) and red 1/4 oz. diving Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).

White Bass are fair to good in the mouth of Big Sandy and the Llano on Spoiler Shads, Tiny Traps and Terminator In-Line spinners.

Crappie are slow in on minnows and blue/chartreuse tail Swirltail gurbs(www.cremelure.com) on 1/32 oz. jigheads.
