Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 55 degrees; 909'
Largemouth are good in 5'-14' along transitional banklines using a watermelon/red Snap Back lizards (www.canyonlakefishing.com); crawfish Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com). Upriver, bass are moving out of deeper holes along bluffs and toward flats along channel turns where white/char. 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten
spinnerbaits (www.canyonlakefishing.com)and crawfish colored Craw Tubes are good choices.
Smallmouth are very good on flat lake points and along bluffs on chartreuse 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits, chartreuse Craw Tubes and rootbeer Hula Grubs. Split shot rigging a watermelon Craw Baby (www.slidingweight.com) or Devil's Tongue on drop shot rigs is productive over rock piles in deeper water.
Stripers are fair in 40'-60' burning whiteHyper Striper (www.kgenterprise.com)jigs or vertically jigging 1/2 oz. silver Pirk Minnows.
White Bass are good 30' along sloping points vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows, Spoiler Shads and Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-traps.com).
Crappie are slow in 40' in open water.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 53 degrees; 824.73':
Black Bass are fair to good in 3'-8' of water pitching a blk/blue 1/4 oz. Terminator jig (www.terminatorlures.com) w/Uncle Josh pork trailers
(www.unclejosh.com), Sour Grape Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and 7" blue fleck Power Worms. Fish are moving into a pre-spawn staging mode and should be more aggressive as the water temperature
stabilizes at, or above, 55 degrees. Target ditches and creek/channel points w/a watermelon/red Craw Baby (www.slidingweight.com) until the spawn begins.
White Bass are good early in the Llano and Colorado arms using 1/8 oz. chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and clear/blue Spoiler Shads
(www.cremelure.com).
Crappie are fair in 18'-25' on crappie jigs and live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 52 degrees; 1015.51':
Largemouth are fair to good along creek ledges in 8'-15' w/stumps and downed timber crawfish Craw Tubes (www.cremelure.com), Carolina rigged watermelon/red Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) lizards
pumpkin Scoundrel worms rigged wacky style on a weedless "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com). Bluffs are still producing using suspending
jerkbaits along transitional rock areas close to feeder creeks.
Stripers are good around Garrett Island trolling white/chartreuse 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and plastic trailers and
tight-lining live bait in 30' of water.
White Bass are fair to good in major creeks vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, 1/8 oz. chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads.
