Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 63 degrees; 909':

Largemouth are very good to 8 lbs in 3'-8' over gravel flats using Snap Back (www.canyonlakefishing.com) pump/chart. lizards, wtrmelon/chart. Bush Pigs (www.cremelure.com) & crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com). Upriver, pitch a 1/4 oz. black/blue/purple Terminator jig w/a matching Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailer, neon/blue flake 4" tubes (www.cremelure.com) or chrome Rat-L-Traps.

Smallmouth are good in 5'-20' on chart. 7/16 oz. Tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), chart. Craw Tubes and watermelon/red Devil's Tongues on drop shots.

Stripers are slow to poor.

White Bass are very good on chartreuse Bettle Spins, chartreuse 2" Gulp grubs, chartresue crappie jigs and LIVE minnows.

Crappie are slow to fair in 25' on chartreuse tail Swirltail grubs, Curb's crappie jigs (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and live minnows.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 60 degrees; 824.94':

LARGEMOUTH are good to 6 lbs in 2'-5' of creeks & canals using pumpkin/chart. Snap Back lizards (www.terminatorlures.com), black/blue

Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and crawfish Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).

WHITE BASS are good in river arms on Spoiler Shads, 1/8 oz. chrome Tiny Traps and Shad Raps.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 59 degrees; 1015.87':

Black Bass are good in 8'-15' wtrmelon/red Devils Tongues on drop shot rigs (www.cremelure.com), blk/blue Snap Back creature baits (www.terminatorlures.com) and pumpkin/chartreuse Whacky Sticks.Clown colored Rogues, slow-rolling a 3/8 oz. Texas Red spinnerbait and/or pitching a 1/4 oz. black/blue rattlin' Terminator jig w/Uncle

Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailer along trasitional ledges in creeks will produce those staging bass.

Stripers are good around Flag Island bottom trolling white/gray Hyper Striper (www.kgenterprise.com) jigs and tight-lining live bait.

White Bass are fair in 6'-15' vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, clear/blue Spoiler Shads chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).
