Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water gin clear; 65-67 degrees; 909':
Largemouth are very good on gravel flats in 3'-6' on grn.pumpk. Snap Back lizards (www.canyonlakefishing.com), No. 46 (crawfish)
Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and watermelon/red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) w/tails dipped chartreuse using a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.canyonlakefishing.com) fished along the edge of flooded buckbrush.
Smallmouth are good on chartreuse 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), chartreuse Craw Tubes, pumpkin Crawfish Jr. (www.slidingweight.com) and rootbeer/green flake
3" Hula Grubs.
Stripers are slow to poor.
White Bass very good on chart. 2" Gulp grubs (www.canyonlakefishing.com),chartreuse Road Runners and live minnows.
Crappie are good in 8'-15' of water on live minnows, 1/32 oz. white Curb's crappie jigs and 2" Curl Tail grubs.
Channel Catfish are very good in Fisherman's Corner on dip bait.
Yellow and Blue Catfish are fair on perch and goldfish.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 65 degrees; 824.91':
Black Bass are good in 2'-5' on Texas rigged pumpkin/chart. Snap Back Lizards (www.terminatorlures.com) rigged on a 3/0 'Bait Jerker hook (www.falconlures.com), green pumpkin/chart tail Wacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) on wacky rigs and pitching a watermelon/red Craw Worm along channel breaklines. Try working a white/chart. tungsten
spinnerbait or pitching either a 1/4 oz. wtrmelon/red Snap Back creature bait or watermelon/red Rogue Worm (www.bumbaits.com) along creek points w/rip rap for quality pre-spawn bass.
White Bass are good early in main river channels on Spoiler Shads,chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Pirk Minnows under birds.
Crappie very good in 2'-4' on 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs & live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 63 degrees; 1016.02':
Largemouth are good to 5 lbs. using white 7/16 oz. tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com and watermelon/red Whacky Sticks rigged on a "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) along secondary creek points in 4'-12' of water. Crawling a pumpkin/chart claw Crawfish Jr. (www.slidingwieght.com) along bluff ledges and down shallow creek channels is producing some of the best fish.
Stripers are good in 35' bottom trolling white/blue Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/trailers, jigging 1 oz. Pirk Minnows (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and tight-lining live bait.
White Bass are good on Pirk Minnows, Spoiler Shads and Tiny Traps.
