Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water gin clear; 68 degrees; 909.35':

Largemouth are very good to 9.5 lbs in 2'-6' over gravel flats in pockets and creeks on watermelon/red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), grn. pumpkin Snap Back (www.canyonlakefishing.com) lizards and Frenzy

crankbaits.

Smallmouth very good over rockpiles in 12' on wacky rigged watermelon/red 4" Whacky Sticks on "K" Wacky Hooks (www.canyonlakefishing.com), rootbeer green flake Hula grubs and watermelon Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs.

Stripers are slow. Early morning top water action on Snap Back jerkbaits.

White Bass fair back downriver on Shad Raps, Terminator In-Line spinners and live minnows.

Crappie are good in 2'-5' tight to brush piles on live minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs.

LAKE LBJ: Water lightly stained; 67 degrees; 824.94':

Largemouth are very good in 1'-5' on watermelon/red Whacky Sticks,(www.cremelure.com) rigged on a "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) blue flake Gulp (www.berkley.com) sinking minnows & green pumpkin

Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) lizards. Work those shallow, spooky bedding bass with a green pumpkin Craw Tube, Albino Snap Back jerkbait rigged on a 4/0 "Bait Jerker" Hook (www.falconlures.com), Texas

rigged watermelon or motor oil Rogue Worm (www.bumbaits.com).

White Bass are fair early in main river channels trolling or casting Tiny Traps, Spoiler Shads and # 3 Terminator In-Line spinners.

Crappie very good to 16" in 1'-2' on white or chart. 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 66 degrees; 1016.45' :

Largemouth are very good in 2'-4' in primary feeder creeks using watermelon/red Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com)lizards rigged on a weight forward "Bait Jerker Hook" (www.falconlures.com) Bush Pigs (www.cremelure.com) & Whacky Sticks. Rat-L-Traps work well along sloping points as do pumpkin-brown 3/16 oz. Finesse Jigs pitched to bedding fish in bruck brush.

Striped Bass are good in 30' of water below Flag Island using 1/2 oz. white/chartreuse Hyper Striper jigs, vertically jigging 1 oz. Pirk Minnows and tight-lining live bait. Some early morning topwater action on Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Pencil Poppers.

White Bass are good in creeks on Spoiler Shads, Lit'l Fishies and Tiny Traps.
