Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water mostly clear; 68 degrees; 912.51':

Largemouth are very good along buckbrush on flats in 3'-6' using white 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), cotton candy Snap Back lizards (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and Bleeding Shiner Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com). A pumpkin/char. tail Whacky Stick rigged wacky style on a "K" Wacky Hook (www.canyonlakefishing.com) is

good along buckbrush and standing timber as the sun gets higher.

Smallmouth are good in 5'-20' on 4" green pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), chartreuse tungsten spinnerbaits and pumpkin bright Sliding Weight (www.slidingweight.com) Craw Fish w/char. claws.

Stripers are good at first light in 70' of water using white/char. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) Snap Back jerkbaits on 1/4 oz. jigheads, diving Rat-L-Traps and Red Fins

White Bass fair on main lake points early using # 3 Terminator In-Line Spinners, Spoiler Shads and Tiny Traps.

Crappie are good in 5'-10' tight to brush and trees on white 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows (www.canyonlakefishing.com).

LAKE LBJ: Water cloudy; 68 degrees; 824.95':

Black Bass are good along main lake points between shallow flats using chrome/blue Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), white/chart. 7/16 oz. Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com) tungsten spinnerbaits

and watermelon/red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com).

White Bass are good early under birds on Shad Raps, silver Pirk Minnows and Spoiler Shads.

Crappie are very good in 1'-3' on white or chartreuse 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs, blue/chart. Mini Tubes and live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water cloudy; 68 degrees; 1017.27':

Largemouth are good in Morgan and Council creeks in 2'-6' of water using 1/4 oz. white/chartreuse Terminator buzzbaits, watermelon/red 5 inch Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and bleeding shiner Rat-L-Traps. Albino Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) jerkbaits and Zara Spooks and chameleon Scoundrel worms rigged

on a "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) are producing around boat docks and rocky points with laydowns and/or stumps.

Stripers are very good bottom trolling 1/2 oz. white/chart Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and tight-lining live bait. Early morning topwater action on Snap Back jerkbaits and Red Fins.
