Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 70 degrees; 911.27' (over 2' above pool):
Largemouth are good to 5 lbs. along bruckbrush in 5'-15' of water pitching watermelon/green flake Bush Pigs, white 7/16 oz. Tungsten spinnerbaits (www.canyonlakefishing.com), 5" pumpkin/chart worms.
Smallmouth are very good at first light in 4'-15' on smoke/red flake Snap Back tubes, smoke Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) and rootbeer/green Hula Grubs.
Striper are fair the first hour of daylight on the surface in 30'-50'burning 1/2 Rat-L-Traps or using an albino Snap Back jerkbait (www.canyonlakefishing.com) rigged on a 5/0 weighted 'Bait Jerker Hook'
(www.falconlures.com) through subsurface activity, then later trolling Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) under birds and tight-lining
live bait.
White Bass are fair at night on live minnows and jigging Spoiler Shads and Curb's Crappie Jigs under Green Lights.
Crappie are very good in 2'-8' on white 1/32 oz.Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained, 70 degrees; 824.63':
Black Bass are good at first light along 5' - 8' breaklines on 1/4 oz. chartreuse/blue Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com),
watermelon/red Craw Tube (www.cremelure.com) and Wiggle Warts. If the bite slows during a clear day, fish are going to be moving under boat docks and suspending along deep water channel breaklines. An
Ice Tea or watermelon/red flake Scoundrel worm rigged wacky style on a 2/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) is the perfect tool for these
conditions.
White Bass are good at night and first light along drop offs of sloping points on blue back Spoiler Shads, clear Rat-L-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com).
Crappie are fair on brushpiles in 15' of water on 1/32 oz. white Curb's crappie jigs, silver Swirltail grubs and live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear, 69 degrees; 1018.15':
Largemouth are good early on secondary creek points
in 3'-5' flats on 1/8 oz. white Tiny-T buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com)clear Rat-L-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com) and watermelon/red Bush Pigs
(www.cremelure.com) along brushpiles & stumps.
Stripers are fair in 25'-30' trolling 1/2 oz. white Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/ chartreuse trailers and tight-lining live bait
from Rocky Point to Black Rock. Early morning topwater and subsurface action on 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Traps and Red Fins.
White Bass are fair in 20'-30' on main creek points vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, Spoiler Shads and Tiny Traps.
