Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 75 degrees; 910.60':

Largemouth are good along ledges with flooded buck-brush on white 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits (www.canyonlakefishing.com); pumpkin

Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and Texas rigged grn pumpkin Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com). UPRIVER, working a 1/4 oz. white/chartreuse Terminator buzzbait on flats, pitching a green pumpkin Craw Tube

or Motor Oil Scoundrel worm rigged wacky style on a 2/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) to laydowns or stumps produce now that the water color is back to normal.

Smallmouth are very good to 4 lbs in 8'-15' on smoke red Snap Back tubes, smoke Hula Grubs (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and pumpkin Baby Craw

Fish(www.slidingweight.com) on split shot rigs. 3/16 oz. brown/pumpkin Uncle Josh Finesse jigs w/Uncle Josh pork trailers (www.unclejosh.com) worked paralell to bluffs and down ledges are very good if the bite slows and fish move in tighter.

Stripers slow to fair using Snap Back Albino jerk-baits on a 4/0 Bait Jerker Hook (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and tight-lining livebait.

White Bass are fair near the surface in pockets and creeks in the lower end early on Spoiler Shads, Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) & small plastic swim baits. Night fishing produces largest whites.

Crappie are good tight to timber fishing vertically in 8'-15' on minnows, 1/16 oz. white Curb's crappie jigs and Swirltail grubs (www.cremelure.com) on Road Runner

heads.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 73 degrees; 824.98':

Largemouth are fair to good along docks and weed patches near steep breaklines using 1/4 oz. silver Terminator(www.terminatorlures.com)buzzbaits, 4"green-pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) or Senkos

and 5" blue flake or red shad worms. Bright sunlight will push these fish deeper and tighter into cover. Pitching a Texas rigged watermelon 4" Craw Tube (www.cremelure.com) around docks or 1/4 oz. green pumpkin/red flake Snap Back creature bait (www.terminatorlures.com) to stumps, weeds &/or

over hanging trees will produce.

Stripers are fair at first light on channel side of points at mid lake on Bleeding Shiner Rat-L-Traps and blue glimmer Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on a 4/0 "Bait Jerker" Hook (www.falconlures.com).

White Bass are fair early over flats on clear Rat-L-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com), Spoiler Shads and 1/8 oz. chrome/blue Spin Traps.

Crappie are fair on brushpiles in 8'-15' of water using Swirltail grubs,chartreuse or white Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 73 degrees; 1018':

Largemouth are good in 6'-12' along flooded buckbrush and laydowns using black/red flake Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com), and pumpkin/chart. Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com). If the sun breaks through morning clouds look for fish to move toward

shade of boat docks and ledges where a white/chart. 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbait or a green pumpkin 3/16 oz. Finesse jig w/matching

No. 23 Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailers will draw them out.

Stripers are fair in 28'-35' of water around Flag Island bottom-trolling white 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/chartreuse trailers

and tight-lining live bait. Early morning topwater and subsurface action along main lake points using Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Berkley topwater walkers.
