Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 78 degrees; 911':

Largemouth are very good along breaklines of flats w/flooded buck-brush in 5'-14' using pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com)w/chart tails; 3" plastic swimbaits (www.canyonlakefishing.com)& white 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits. Watermelon Big Pig

(www.cremelure.com) or Baby Brush Hogs worked in tight to timber are good choices in 8'-17' of water. UPRIVER, a 1/8th or 1/4 oz. blue/char. Terminator buzzbait or small topwaters produce for the first couple of hours of daylight and as long as cloud cover holds. Bass move tight to the shady side of cedar trees and laydowns in 6'-12' of water after the

sun comes out. Green-pumpkin Senkos (www.canyonlakefishing.com) are good choices.

Smallmouth are good in 8'-20' smoke-red flake Snap Back tubes, 3" rootbeer grubs, pumpkin Devil's

Tongues (www.cremelure.com) on drop shot rigs.

Stripers are poor to slow .

White Bass are good at night under lights on 1/16 oz. white Curb's crappie jigs, blue chartreuse Swirltail grubs(www.cremelure.com) and live minnows.

Crappie are good tight to timber and brush in 8'-15' on 1" Swirltail gurbs, 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 78 degrees; 825.89'

Black Bass are good along channel breaklines in 4'-8' using 4" grn/pump Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), 3" plastic swimbaits and, blue/chart. Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com)Tungsten spinnerbaits. 3/16 oz. purple or junebug Terminator titanium jigs tipped w/#23 Uncle Josh pork & grape Scoundrel worm

rigged wacky style on a 2/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com)during the afternoon when bass suspend under docks.

Stripers are fair early and at night trolling Hyper Stripers jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) and free-lining live bait.

White Bass are good at night on Swirltail grubs, white Curb's crappie jigs with spinners and #3 Terminator In-Line Spinners.

Crappie are good at night on grubs, crappie jigs and minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 75 degrees; 1017.60':

Largemouth are fair to good for the first hour of light along flats out to the 4'-8' breaklines using silver/blue Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), 5" green pumpkin Whacky

Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and medium running, shad crankbaits.

Stripers are good in 28' under clouds bottom trolling 1/2 oz. white Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/ chart. trailers,

vertically jigging silver 1 oz. Pirk Minnows & tight-lining live bait.

Early A.M. topwater activity using Rat-L-Traps & blue glimmer Snap Back jerkbaits on a weighted 4/0 Bait Jerker hook (www.falconlures.com).

White Bass are fair at first light along main lake creek points on Spoiler Shads, Lit'l Fishies (www.cremelure.com) and Tiny Traps.
