Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 79 degrees; 910.28':

LARGEMOUTH are good in numbers at first light in 5'-8' on lake points w/buckbrush using white 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) and weightless pumpkin/chart. Senkos (www.canyonlakefishing.com). As the sun gets on the water work ledges with stickups in 8'-14' pitching Brush Hogs and pumpkin 4" or 5" finesse worms. After midmorning bass are moving to bluffs and secondary points w/brushpiles where pumpkin/chartreuse Snap Back lizards

(www.canyonlakefishing.com) on Carolina rigs are producing. UPRIVER,there is a good early morning bite on 1/8 oz. white/char. Terminator buzzbaits, Rat-L-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com) and later on 4" green pumpkin

Senkos and Beetle Spins.

SMALLMOUTH are good to 4 lbs at night in 10'-25' along points and dropoffs using a black 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbait, 5/16 oz. green pumpkin finesse jig w/rattles and #11 Uncle Josh pork trailers (www.unclejosh.com). Pumpkin Devil's Tongues w/tails dipped chartreuse (www.cremelure.com) on split shot or drop shot rigs are great techniques.

STRIPERS are slow.

WHITE BASS are fair to good at night under green lights using Swirltail grubs (www.cremelure.com), Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

CRAPPIE are fair to good in 15' and upriver tight to timber on white or chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 80 degrees; 824.97':

BLACK BASS are fair to good at night and first light over flats close to channel breaklines on black Terminator buzzbaits, spinnerbaits(www.terminatorlures.com). After midmorning try

Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) rigged wacky style

on a 2/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com), a weightless green pumpkin Senko and Snap Back tubes along and under docks or swimming a white Terminator jig through and along water willows close to breaklines. These techniques are all producing keeper fish.

WHITE BASS are good at night on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishie, white Curb's crappie jigs and Swirltail grubs.

CRAPPIE are good at night on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 80 degrees; 1017.45':

LARGEMOUTH are fair at daylight in 4'-10' using white 1/8 oz. Terminator buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), watermelon/red

or white Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) rigged wacky style on a "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com)m Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on a 4/0 'Bait Jerker Hook" (www.falconlures.com) and smokin' green Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs.

Stripers are fair in 30' bottom trolling white Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/ chartreuse trailers, vertically jigging Pirk Minnows and tight-lining live bait.

White bass fair very early on flats near lake points on Spoiler Shads, Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Road Runners.
