Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 83 degrees; 914.73':

Flood Pool Elevation

Largemouth are good to 4 lbs along secondary break-lines in 10'-14' on shad colored 5'-8' shallow running crankbaits, white 7/16 oz. tungsten spinnerbaits(www.canyonlakefishing.com), watermelon Whacky Sticks

(www.cremelure.com) and watermelon/red flake Snap Back

(www.terminatorlures.com) jerkbaits rigged on a 4/0 Bait Jerker Hook (www.canyonlakefishing.com). UPRIVER IS NOT SAFE TO NAVIGATE.techniques.

Smallmouth are good in 8'-25' of water on smoke/red Snap Back tubes, smokin' grn Devil's Tongues (www.canyonlakefishing.com) on drop shot rigs & pump/brn finesse jigs (www.terminatorlures.com)

# 11 Uncle Josh pork trailers.

Stripers are slow to poor. Very minimal activity, but when it comes it's at first light using white Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and vertically jigging Pirk Minnows in 50' of water.

White Bass are good at night under lights on Swirltail grubs,Curb's crappie jigs and Lit'l Fishies.

Crappie were good until the flood in 8'-15' tight to trees and brush in Curb's crappie jigs

(www.canyonlakefishing.com) and live minnows.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 81 degrees; 824.68':

**Floods on the Llano and Sandy Creek are turning the water to chocolate milk. Fish thru that surface layer. Water will be clearer the deeper your lure goes.**

Black Bass are good at night and at first light on 4'-8' & 8'-12' breaklines on chart/blue Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com)spinnerbaits, 3" plastic swim baits & grn/pump. Whacky Sticks(www.cremelure.com). Pitching a pumpkin/brown Terminator finesse jig w/#23 Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailers,

wtrmelon/red Snap Back tubes & skipping an Ice Tea Scoundrel worm rigged wacky style on 2/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) under and on the shady side of docks is the best technique during the day.

White Bass are very good to 2 lbs at night on Lit'l Fishies and chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs.

Crappie are good over brushpiles in 14' using white Curb's crappie jigs, silver Swirl tail grubs and live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 80 degrees; 1018.50'

**Flooding this week will push bass shallower than normal for this time of year. Locate the clearest water available and work the first breakline off the bank.**

Largemouth are good to 7 lbs bank shallow early on a topwater bite using silver Terminator (www.terminatorlure.com) buzzbaits, Berkley Frenzy poppers and 7/16 oz. white Snap Back jerkbaits.

Working grass around and above the waterline behind docks and laydowns on breaklines w/shallow running crankbaits, wtrmelon/red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) & grn-pump. tubes. Pumpkin

Craw Baby (www.slidingweight.com)& Scoundrel worms rigged wacky style on a 2/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) produce along bluff ledges.

Stripers are good in 26' of water trolling white Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/chart. trailers and tight-lining live bait. Early topwater bite on Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Red Fins.

White Bass fair in 20' on creek points using Spoiler Shads, chrome/blue Tiny Traps and Lit'l Fishies.
