Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 83 degrees; 910':

Largemouth are good at first light in 4'-10' feet on clear Rat-L-Tops(www.rat-l-trap.com), silver Terminator(www.canyonlakefishing.com) buzzbaits and 4" crawfish Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) or Senkos (www.canyonlakefishing.com) worked along the edge of buckbrush. Later, working standing timber in 14'-20' w/ watermelon/red Bush Pigs (www.cremelure.com) or Brush Hogs and green-pumpkin finesse jigs w/Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) trailers & pump/chart. Whacky Sticks or Senkos (www.canyonlakefishing.com) produce.

Smallmouth are fair to good in 12'-25' on pumpkin Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs, smoke/red flake Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com)tubes & rootbeer/grn flake 3" grubs.

Stripers are slow to fair trolling 1/2 oz. white/gray Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) or tight-lining live perch or goldfish in 60'-70' of water. No topwater or subsurface action.

White Bass are good at night under green lights on Swirltail grubs.

Crappie are good in 10'-20' tight to standing timber on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 83 degrees; 824.90':

Black Bass are good at night and at first light on chart/blue Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), silver Terminator buzzbaits, Pop R's and watermelon/red Senkos or Wacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) rigged on wacky style on a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com).

Stripers are fair to good up to 24" at night on 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and live perch.

White Bass are excellent at night with limits of fish up to 2 lbs. s on Lit'l Fishies and chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs.

Crappie are very good over brushpiles in 14' on white Curb's crappie jigs, Swirltail grubs and live minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water murky upper-clear lower; 82 degrees; 1018.10'(Above Flood Pool)

Largemouth are good at first light in 8'-14' of water in flooded bushes using chart. Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) tubes; white/chart.

Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits and Texas rigged watermelon/red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) or Senkos during the day work shaded ledges and the shady side of boat docks w/ Ice Tea Scoundrel worms on a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) & watermelon/red Snap Back jerkbaits.

Stripers are fair to good in 28'-35' from Flag Island to the dam bottom trolling 1/2 oz. white Hyper Striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) w/chart. trailers and tight-lining live bait.

White Bass are fair early on creek points in 20' using Spoiler Shads,Pirk Minnows and Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).
