Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 79 degrees; 909':

Largemouth are good early in 20' along bluffs and mainlake points on smoke-red flake Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com), pumpkin Slider worms and green pumpkin 3/16 oz. Terminator finesse jigs w/Uncle

Josh pork trailers (www.unclejosh.com).

Smallmouth are good to 3 lbs along rock piles in 3'-8' using a white Photon crankbait (www.photonlures.com) and later 20' of water using Sliding Weight

craw fish (www.slidingweight.com), crawfish colored tubes on jigheads and pumpkin Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) on split shot rigs.

Striped Bass are slow to fair in 60'-80' of water downrigging a white 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jig (www.kgenterprise.com).

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 80 degrees; 824.80'

Largemouth are good to 6.5 lbs at daylight along 5'-8' channel break-lines on 1/4 oz. firetiger Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), small

topwater poppers and watermelon-red plastic stickbaits like a Whacky Stick (www.cremelure.com). On overcast days working crankbaits like a green back Photon 6'-8' crankbaits (www.photonlures.com) and pitching watermelon-red creature baits like the 4" Snap Back or 3" Craw Tube along rocks and rip rap will find some quality bass.

White Bass are very good at night in 8'-20' on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies.

Crappie are good at night over brushpiles in 12'-20' on silver Tiny Tubes, Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 80 degrees; 1017.75':

Largemouth are good to 4 lbs. over flats early on Terminator tungsten 7/16 oz. white spinnerbaits, green Photon crankbait (www.photonlures.com),

Pop R's or Chug Bugs, Terminator tungsten 7/16 oz. white spinnerbaits and later in 15'-20' using pumpkin Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com), Tx. rigged green pumpkin Craw Tubes (www.cremelure.com) and 4" Whacky Sticks rigged wacky style on 3/0 "K" Wacky Hooks (www.falconlures.com). A split shot rigged watermelon/red Sliding Weight (www.slidingweight.com)

Craw Baby is also productive along ledges and rip rap on seawalls.

Striped bass are fair drifting live shad and trolling 1/2 oz. white/char. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) from Flag island to the dam.
