Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 78 degrees; 909':

Largemouth are good early and late on white 1/4 oz. Terminator buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), pumpkin Wacky Sticks rigged on a 3/0 "K"

Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) and white Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com) in 4'-8'. Upriver, 1/8 oz. Tiny-T buzzbaits, chrome Rat-l-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Texas rigged 6" blue flake Power Worms produce in pockets along channel breaklines.

Smallmouth to 3.5 lbs. are good and improving in 15'-20' of water along bluffs and rip rap using smoke-red flake Snap Back(www.terminatorlures.com) tubes rigged on an 1/8th oz. jighead, pumpkin/brown 3/16 oz. finesse jigs w/Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailers as well as, pumpkin Sliding Weight (www.slidingweight.com) Craw Baby on split shot rigs.

Striped Bass showing improvement at first light near the dam trolling 1/2 oz. white-chartreuse Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) on down riggers and tightlining live shad in 60'.

White Bass slow to fair vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com) and Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) in 40'-50'.

Crappie are good upriver in 12'-20' using chartreuse 1/16 oz. Curb's Crappie Jigs w/spinners and live minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 79 degrees; 824.86':

Largemouth are good in 5'-8' deadsticking watermelon-red Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on weighted 5/0 Bait Jerker Hooks (www.falconlures.com), wacky rigged black- blue flake Wacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and

white-blue-chartreuse Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com).

Striped Bass are good to 21" at night on 2" Lit'l Fishies, white 1/4 oz. bucktails and Terminator In-Line spinners.

White Bass are very good at night on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies and white grubs.

Crappie are good at night over brushpiles in 8'-15' on 1/16 oz. Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.

Largemouth are good early and late over flats close to creek channels using silver shad 7/17 oz. tungsten spinnerbaits(www.terminatorlures.com), pumpkin-chart weightless Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and

green bug Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com).

Striped Bass are improving in 30' trolling white-blue Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com), vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows and drifting live shad.
