Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 78 degrees; 910':
Largemouth are good to 6 lbs. in 8'-20' of water along bluffs and lake points using green-pumpkin Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com), pumpkin-char.
Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and pumpkin-green flake Scoundrel worms on jigheads. Upriver, white-chartreuse Terminator spinnerbaits, pitching blk/blue
Snap Back creature baits and topwater chuggars are producing.
Smallmouth are good along bluffs in in 6'-14' over rockpiles and on ledges using white Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com), Bleeding Shiner Rat-L-Traps
(www.rat-l-trap.com) over flats on points, smoke-red Snap Back tubes on jigheads and rootbeer-green flake 3" curl tail grubs worked down bluff ledges.
Stripers are improving near the dam.
White Bass are fair on mainlake points vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows.
Crappie are good upriver in 12'-20'.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 77 degrees; 1017.54':
Largemouth are good in 4'-10' above breaklines using silver 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits & buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com),medium running green Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com) pumpkin/char.Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and watermelon-red Snap Back tubes. Chrome/blue back 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and 6" watermelon-red Scoundrel worms rigged wacky style on a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com)are producing in open water along ledges.
Striped Bass are good in 28' from Shaw to Flag Island trolling white Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com), vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows and tight-lining live shad.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 78 degrees; 824.69':
Largemouth are very good to 5 lbs. in 5'-12' on boulder rocks along main channel break-lines and on docks using medium running green Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com), Bleeding Shiner Rat-L-Traps
(www.rat-l-trap.com), white-chartreuse 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits(www.terminatorlures.com) & skipping Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) on wacky rigs using a "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com)under the docks. Start your day early (before daylight) fishing the edges of the lights. As the sun
comes up, key on boulder rocks and if the sun comes out bright, move to the docks, otherwise, stay on the breakline pattern.
White Bass are good at night on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies and chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs.
