Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake
Water clear lower-murky upper; 74 degrees; 912.63'
Largemouth are good early and all day under cloud cover in 5'-9' using white 7/16 oz. Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) , Cisco Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com) along breaklines & over rockpiles, smoke-chart. tail 4" Slider finesse worms. Texas rigged green-pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and Scoundrel worms on a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) produce in pockets and creeks.
Smallmouth are good to 2.5 lbs on rockpiles in 5'-25' using smoke-red Snap Back tubes, pumpkin Sliding Weight Craw Baby crawfish (www.slidingweight.com)
smoke and 3" smoke/pepper curl tail grubs on jigheads.
Striped Bass are improving at first light on the surface briefly using white Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on a 5/0 Bait Jerker Hook (www.falconlures.com), 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and 1/2 oz. silver Pirk Minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 74-76 degrees; 824.83':
Largemouth are very good to 6 lbs on rip rap & boulder rock in 4'-8' using Silver 1/4 oz. buzzbaits, wacky rigged blk/blue 5" Whacky Sticks(www.cremelure.com) and green Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com).
Minimal schooling activity from small bass on Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and smoke 3" grubs & 4" plastic jerkbaits.
Striped Bass are fair to good at night on silver Terminator In-Line spinners and 3" white grubs.
