Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 60 degrees; 924':

Largemouth are very good in 8'-12' on hardwood, buckbrush and flooded points using green-pumpkin Snap back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com), white Terminator tungsten (www.terminatorlures.com) spinnerbaits and wacky rigged pumpkin Whacky Sticks on a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com).

Smallmouth are good to 3 lbs. in 12'-20' on blue-char. Fat Free Shads, 3" smoke curl grubs, pumpkin-brown 3/16 oz. finesse jigs w/Uncle Josh pork trailers

(www.unclejosh.com) and Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com).

Stripers good under birds burning 1/2 oz. white-blue Hyper Striper jigs w/trailers(www.kgenterprise.com), vertically jigging Pirk Minnows and white bucktails.

Lake Buchanan: Water mostly clear; 59 degrees; 1019.70':

Largemouth are good over flooded flats in 2'-8' and along secondary points in creeks using 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), white/chart Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com) tungsten spinnerbaits, white 5" Texas rigged Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and smoke Devils Tongues on drop shot rigs.

Striped Bass are good in 25'-30' trolling 1/2 oz. white/chart. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) and trailers, tight-lining live shad and casting Red Fins to surface activity.

White Bass are slow in 25' on creek points using Pirk Minnows, Lit'l Fishie Shads and Tiny Traps.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 60 degrees; 824.70':

Black Bass are good in numbers up to 6 lbs. along rocks and hardwood structure using Baby Bass Photon crankbaits (www.photonlures.com), Bleeding Shiner Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and wacky rigged

pumpkin 5" black/blue flake Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) on a 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com).

Stripers are good to 21" near the dam trolling 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jigs,(www.kgenterprise.com) vertically jigging silver or blue Pirk Minnows or white bucktail jigs over channel humps.

White Bass are fair to good trolling Shad Raps, white 3" grubs and casting 1/4 oz. Tiny Traps to schooling activity along main channel breaklines.

Crappie are fair over brush and on bridge pilings using Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.
