Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon lake: Water clear; 55 degrees; 918':

Largemouth are fair to good in feeder creeks and flats in bays on 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), wtrmelon-red Craw Tubes (www.cremelure.com) and 7/16 oz. Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com)Silver Shad tungsten spinnerbaits fished tight to stumps and trees.

Smallmouth are good in 8'-20' on chartreuse Terminator spinnerbaits, white Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), 3" root beer curl tail (www.cremelure.com).

Stripers are fair to 21" early under birds on white bucktails, blue glimmer Snap back jerkbaits rigged on 5/0 Bait-Jerker Hooks (www.falconlures.com)and burning Hyper Striper jigs )www.kgenterprise.com) through active, surfacing schools.

White Bass are slow in 30' along mainlake points jigging Pirk Minnows,Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com)and bucktails.

Lake Buchanan: Water clearing; 54 degrees; 1019.74'

Largemouth are good along ledges of secondary creek points in 6'-18' using brown-pumpkin 3/16 oz. Terminator finesse jigs (www.terminatorlures.com)

w/Uncle Josh pork trailers, drop shotting Smokin' Green Devils Tongues (www.cremelure.com), white Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits and 3' root

beer or smoke grubs.

Striped Bass are fair trolling white-chartreuse 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) on downriggers, vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk

Minnows and tight-lining live bait from Flag to the Willows.

White Bass are slow in 30' jigging 1-1/2 inch Lit'l Fishies and Pirk Minnows.

Crappie fair on minnows and black-chartreuse Tube Lures.

Largemouth are slow along 8'-12' breaklines on pumpkin-chartreuse Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), black-blue Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com)creature baits and white-chartreuse Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits.

White Bass fair early under birds on trolling Shad Raps, casting Tiny Traps and white grubs.

Crappie are only fair along bridge pilings on chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.
