Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 54 degrees; 909':

Largemouth are good to 6 lbs in 3'-10' tight to wood and brushpiles using black/purple 1/4 oz. Terminator jigs (www.terminatorlures.com) w/ Uncle Josh

(www.unclejosh.com) pork trailers, Texas rigged 6" black/blue flake Power Worms (www.berkley-baits.com) and wacky rigged pumpkin Whacky Sticks

(www.cremelure.com) rigged on 3/0 "K" Wacky Hooks (www.falconlures.com).

Smallmouth are good along ledges and over rockpiles in 8'-20' smoke 3" grubs, watermelon/red Sliding Weight(www.slidingweight.com) Craw Fish and brown Curb's hair jigs.

Stripers are fair to good to 30" on silver Pirk Minnows, white Snap Back jerkbaits and white streamer flys.

White Bass are improving along mainlake points and humps vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, Lit'l Fishies and Spin Traps.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 52 degrees; 1019.80':

Largemouth are good in 8'-15' over brushpiles and rockpiles along secondary creek points and breaklines in creeks slow-rolling a white/chartreuse 7/16 oz.

Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com) tungsten spinnerbait, 3/16 oz. black/blue Terminator finesse jigs w/matching Uncle Josh pork trailer (www.unclejosh.com) and wacky rigged pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) on a "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com) along docks.

Stripers are very good at night around dock lights on Lit'l Fishies, white 1/4 oz. bucktails and trolling 1/2 oz. white/blue Hyper Striper jigs or tight-lining

live bait over humps in 30' during the day.

White Bass are improving at mid-lake vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnows and chrome Spin Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).

Crappie are fair to good under heated and baited crappie docks like at Hi-Line Resort on 1/32 white Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
