Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 54 degrees; 909' :

Largemouth are good along mainlake points in 10'-20' using smoke-red Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) tubes, #46 Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and smoke 3" curl tail grubs. Upriver, bass are good to 7 lbs. swimming a white 1/4 oz. Terminator jig w/ #11 Uncle Josh (www.unclejosh.com) pork trailer thru brushpiles and submerged trees, Texas rigged watermelon-red Big Pigs (www.cremelure.com).

Smallmouth are very good over rock piles in 8'-15' on all chartreuse New Stainless 3/8 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits, pumpkin-chartreuse Wacky Sticks

and Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com).

Stripers are fair in 40'-50' along ledges burning 1/2 oz. white/gray Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) with trailers and jigging 1/4 oz. silver Pirk Minnows.

White Bass are good in 30'-40' jigging Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com),pearl Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com), & 1/4 oz. silver or chartreuse

Pirk Minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 50 degrees; 1020' :

Largemouth are good to 5 lbs in 10'-20 feet along main and secondary creek points using Texas rigged blue flake Snap Back creature baits; 6" watermelon-chartreuse Big Pigs and black-brown 3/16 oz. Terminator

finesse jigs (www.terminatorlures.com) w/ #11 Uncle Josh pork trailers (www.unclejosh.com).

Stripers are very good from The Willows to Paradise in 25'-40' along the river channel trolling white/blue 1/2 oz. Hyper Striper jigs (www.kgenterprise.com) w/ white trailers, jigging 1/2 oz. silver Pirk Minnows

and tight-lining live bait.

White Bass are improving in open water along creek points in 30' jigging Pirk Minnows, Pearl Blade Runners (www.lakevielures.com) & chrome Tiny

Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).

Crappie fair to 12" on the crappie dock at Hi-Line Resort using white Curb's 1/32 oz. crappie jigs and live minnows.
