Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 63 degrees; 910':

Largemouth are very good along 4'-8' breaklines of flats using pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), Snap Back soft jerkbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) and white Terminator spinnerbaits. Upriver, bass are good to 6 lb. on pumpkin-char. Whacky Sticks, rootbeer-grn. Brush Hogs and green-pump. Snap Back tubes.

Smallmouth are good over rockpiles near ledges on crawfish tubes, Rattlin' Rogues and crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).

Stripers are fair in 17-24 feet jigging silver Pirk Minnows, pearl Spoiler Shads and white bucktails.

White Bass are fair to good on chartreuse grubs, Tiny Traps and small swim baits.

Crappie are improving upriver to 12" on tube jigs and Curb's crappie jigs.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 61 degrees; 1019.66':

Largemouth are very good in creeks and on points 2'-6' deep using pumpkin-chartreuse plastic stick baits like Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), watermelon-red Snap Back soft jerkbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) and pumpkin-pepper lizards.

Stripers are good in 25' around The Willows drifting live bait, vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnows and 4" Spoiler Shads.

White Bass are fair on mainlake points jigging Pirk Minnows, Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and 2" Spoiler Shads.

Crappie are fair around docks on live minnows, blue-chartreuse Tiny Tubes and Curb's crappie jigs.

Largemouth are very good to 7 lbs in 3'-8' along rip rap and creek points using white-chartreuse Terminator spinnerbaits, watermelon-red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) and pumpkin-chartreuse Snap Back lizards (www.terminatorlures.com).

White Bass are good along breaklines on channel turns jigging Pirk Minnows, chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Shad Raps.

Crappie are fair in 14' on tube lures, chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
