Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 68 degrees; 910.11':

Largemouth are good on 3'-8' breaklines on 1/4 white Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com, pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com)dead- sticking albino soft plastic jerkbaits and shallow running white crankbaits along 5' breaklines. Upriver, a pumpkin 4" Ring Worm, wacky rigged watermelon Scoundrel worm fished in 3'-5'.

Smallmouth are good over rockpiles and on ledges in 12'-25' on Snap Back smoke tubes (www.terminatorlures.com), rootbeer-green flake 3" curl tail grubs and white 4" Whacky Sticks rigged wacky style on 3/0 "K" Wacky Hooks (www.falconlures.com)

Crappie are fair upriver in 5'-12' on live minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 68 degrees; 1017.96'

Largemouth are good in 4'-8' along drop-offs on flats and points in pockets on white/char 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbait (www.terminatorlures.com), pumpkin/chart tail Whacky Stick (www.cremelure.com), Bleeding Shad

Rat-l-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and deadsticking albino-blue soft jerkbaits.

Stripers are fair to good from Flag Island to the Willows tight-lining live bait, vertically jigging a silver 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnow or pearl 1/4 oz. Blade Runner (www.lakeviewlures.com) in 28'-35' of water.

White Bass are fair to good in 15'-25' close to main channels in the upper end using 2" Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com), 1/8 th oz. Bleeding Shiner Tiny

Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and live minnows.

Largemouth are good to 6.5 lbs in 3'-6' on 1/4 oz. blue/white Terminator spinnerbaits and buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), green pumpkin Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps

(www.rat-l-trap.com), Skip-N-Pop topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com) and watermelon-red soft plastic jerkbaits.

Stripers are fair to 24" early and at night on 2" Spoiler Shads and 1/4 oz. white bucktails.

White Bass are fair early using Spoiler Shads, chrome/blue Tiny Traps and 1/4 Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com)

Crappie are fair in 2'-10' on 1/32 Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.
