Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 67-69 degrees; 910.16'

Largemouth are good in 6'-12' along breaklines of flats using 1/4 oz. white Terminator spinnerbaits, 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shiner Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-traps.com) and pumpkin-chartreuse Whacky Sticks. Upriver, bass to 5 lbs are good pitching green-pumpkin Snap Back creature baits, pumpkin 4" Ring Worms and working Skip-N-Pop topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com) along flats on channel turns.

Smallmouth are fair to good on ledges and over rock piles in 12'-25' on drop shot pumpkin Devil's Tongues, smoke-red Snap Back Tubes and rootbeer 3" grubs.

Stripers are fair at night under lights using live bait.

White Bass are fair early on Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com),Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com)and at night under lights on live minnows,

Crappie are good in 8'-10' on minnows, 1/16 oz. Tube Jigs and Curb's crappie jigs.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 69 degrees; 8724.95'

Largemouth are good tight to stumps and laydowns in 4'-6' on blue/chart/white Terminator spinnerbaits, (www.terminatorlures.com) weightless wtrmelon-red

Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) Rat-LTraps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Carolina rigged grn-pumpkin Snap Back lizards on 8'-12' dropoffs. Topwater bite has been fair to good early A.M. over flats and sloping points on Skip-N-Pops (www.jdcbaits.com), Terminator 1/4 oz. white/char. buzzbaits and Spooks.

Stripers are fair at night on Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com) and 1/4 oz. white bucktails.

White Bass are fair early and good at night on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies & Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com).

Crappie are good over brush and bushes in 2'-6' using white or chartreuse 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
