Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 69 degrees; 910':
Largemouth are good in 5'-18' using smoke-red Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com) pumpkin-chartreus 4" Ring Wroms and Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com). Upriver, bass to 6 lbs. are very good on white Falcon Lure's buzzbaits (www.falconlures.com), Zara Puppies and green-pumpkin Skeet Reese creature baits.
Smallmouth are good to 4 lbs using rootbeer-green flake curl tail grubs, green pumpkin 3" tubes and green-pumpkin Skip-N-Pop topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com).
Stripers are slow to fair at night under lights on live bait.
White Bass are fair early and at night under lights on Spoiler Shads, white bucktails and white grubs.
Crappie are good upriver on minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs.

Largemouth are good to 6 lbs using weightless watermelon-red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), white/blue/chartreuse 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), watermelon Skip-N-Pop (www.jdcbaits.com), white Falcon Lure's buzzbaits
(www.falconlures.com) and Bleeding Shad Rat-l-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).
Stripers are fair at night on Spoiler Shads and white bucktails.
White Bass are fair at night and early under birds on Spoiler Shads, Lit'l Fishie, Tiny Traps and white grubs.
Crappie are good in 8'-12' on white or chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 68 degrees; 1017.80':
Largemouth are good along 4'-8' breaklines using Texas rigged smoke-red Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) tubes, watermelon-red Whacky Sticks www.cremelure.com) and Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and silver flake Skip-N-Pop topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com). Transition points (bluff to chunk rock banklines)
are producing some quality bass om split shot rigged watermelon-red Craw Baby (www.slidingweight.com) and Brush Hogs.
Stripers are fair to good in 28' from Black Rock to Flag Island drifting live bait, 1/2 oz. Spin Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and Snap Back jerk-baits rigged on a 4/0 Bait Jerker Hook. (www.falconlures.com)
White Bass are good in 15'-25' on Spoiler Shads, silver Pirk Minnows and live bait.
Crappie are good in 12'-15' on white Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
