Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 80 degrees; 910':
Largemouth are good at daylight in 2'-6' around stumps & stickups using unweighted Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com), Snap Back soft jerkbaits, & also along bluff ledges in 8'-25 on C-rigged grn-pumpkin
Skeet Reese (www.terminatorlures.com) creature baits, Ice Tea Scoundrel worms rigged on an 1/8th oz. jighead and 4" blood worms on drop shot rigs. Upriver, there is a good early AM topwater/subsurface bite over flats
in 3'-8' and along points of channel turns using wtrmelon JDC topwater Skip-N-Pops (www.jdcbaits.com), white 1/8th oz. Terminator buzzbaits, deadsticking white 4" soft jerkbaits w/chart. tails and wacky rigged Ice Tea Scoundrel worms on a 2/0"K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com).
Smallmouth are good to 3.5 lbs. at night on points, along ledges of bluffs and over rock piles in 5'-25' on a black, short-arm single blade Terminator spinnerbaits, blk/brn 1/8th oz. jigs w/Uncle Josh pork trailers (www.unclejosh.com) & split shot rigged Sliding Weight Craw Baby ( www.slidingweight.com).
Stripers fair at night on pearl Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com)and Pirk Minnows.
White Bass are good at night under lights on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies, crappie jigs and minnows.
Crappie are good upriver in 10'-20' in stickups and tree tops using blue-chartreuse Tube Lures, white crappie jigs and minnows.

Bass are very good to 6 lbs at daylight along docks, rip rap and 4'-10' break-lines on watermelon-red Whacky Sticks www.cremelure.com),watermelon JDC topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com), 1/8 oz. Big Eyez buzz-
baits (www.falconlures.com), 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), When the motion bait action slows, work channel breaks & points w/ Devil's Tongues www.cremelure.com), Skeet Reese grn-pumpkin Creature Baits (www.terminatorlures.com) & wacky rigged 6" wtrmelon-red Scoundrel worm under and around deep water docks and rip rap.
Stripers are good at night on Spoiler Shads, Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com) and white curl tail grubs.
White Bass are very good at night to 15" using 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishes, Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com) & Tiny Traps ( www.rat-l-trap.com).
Crappie are good at night over brushpiles under lights in 12' of water on crappie jigs and minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 79 degrees; 1017.80':
Bass are good at daylight on secondary creek points
and the Apple Orchard in 4'-12' using white-chartreuse
Terminator buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps www.rat-l-trap.com), & weighted watermelon-red soft jerkbaits. After mid-morning watermelon Scoundrel worm (www.cremelure.com) rigged on a 1/8 oz. jighead , drop shot rigged watermelon Devil's Tongues fished down boulder ledges along main-lake bluffs produce.
Stripers are fair to good early from Garrett Island toward the Dam on the surface over 30' jigging pearl Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com), diving Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), Albino Snap Back soft jerkbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) rigged on a 5/0 Bait Jerker Hook (www.falconlures.com) and tight-lining live shad.
White Bass are fair early on main creek points on 2" Spoiler Shads, Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com), and Tiny Traps.
Crappie are good upriver over brushpiles and stumps in
6'-15' using crappie jigs and minnows.
