Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 85 degrees; 909':
Largemouth are good to 4.5 lbs at first light along ledges of mainlake
points on white Terminator (www.terminatorlures.com), spinnerbaits,
wtrmelon-red Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) & smoke-pepper
4" Strike Grub (www.jdcbaits.com) on 1/8 oz. jigheads. Long sloping
points are producing right as daylight in 6'-12' on Bleeding Shad Rat-
L-Traps, Carolina rigged
Upriver the early AM topwater and motion bait bite continues along
undercut banklines on channels using 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad
Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), rainbow colored 1/4 oz. Terminator
stainless spinnerbaits, motor-oil tubes (www.cremelure.com) and
and a Zara Spook, Jr.
Smallmouth are good to 3 lbs at first light along ledges in 6'-10' on
smoke-red JR. Craw (www.jdcbaits.com), pumpkin-brown Terminator
3/16 oz. finesse jig with a pumpkin Devil's Tongue(www.cremelure.com)
trailer and a Sliding Weight Craw Baby(www.slidingweight.com).
Stripers are slow.
White Bass are fair to good at night under lights in 20'-30' on 2" Spoiler
Shads, Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com) and on the surface using
small topwaters like a Rat-L-Top (www.rat-l-trap.com) or Tiny Trap right at
daylight.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 85 degrees; 824.80':
Largemouth are good at night and all day under cloud cover along seawall rip rap, laydowns and weeds as long as baitfish are present. Our most productive lures have been a silver 1/4 oz. Terminator buzz-
bait (www.terminatorlures.com), a black-red or pumpkin Skip-N-Pop (www.jdcbaits.com), 1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and a watermelon-red Whacky Stick (www.cremelure.com). On those blue bird clear, dead still days, try a grn-pump Snap Back Tube, 5" JDC
Craw (www.jdcbaits.com) or a Devil's Tongue (www.cremelure.com) on drop shot or split shot rigs under and along the shaded side of boat docks and tree lines.
Stripers are good at night on 2" Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com), white bucktails w/grub trailers and freelining live bait.
White Bass are very good at night using 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies and white crappie jigs.

Largemouth are good at first light and all day under cloud cover on white-chart. Tiny-T buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), wtrmelon Skip-N-Pop (www.jdcbaits.com) topwaters, watermelon-chartreuse
Whacky Stiks (www.cremelure.com) & Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com). When there are no clouds look for submerged open water humps off of mainlake points to Carolina rig a green-pump. Snap Back lizard or drop shot a rootbeer-pepper Drop Shot Worm
(www.jdcbaits.com).
Stripers improved under cloud cover and rain from Garrett Island to the Dam swimming a natural Spoiler Shad (www.cremelure.com), Blade Runners (www.lakeviewlures.com), vertically jigging clown
colored Pirk Minnows and drifting live bait.
White Bass are fair at first light along mainlake points on chrome Tiny Traps, 2" Spoiler Shads and Rat-L-Tops (www.rat-l-trap.com).
