Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water gin clear; 84-86 degrees; 908.94'':
Largemouth are fair at first light along mainlake points, 3'-6' flats and bluff ledges in 8'-15' on wacky rigged natural Whacky Sticks (www.cremelure.com) on weedless 3/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com), Carolina rigged watermelon Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com) and rootbeer JDC Drop Shot Worms (www.jdcbaits.com). Upriver, undercut banklines
with 6'-12' of water produce on white-char. "Red Series" Terminator spinnerbaits, 3" watermelon JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com) and pumpkin-grn. Scoundrel worms on wacky rigs.
Smallmouth are fair to 2 lbs in 10'-20' on 3" green-pumpkin JDC Craws and 4" Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) on drop shot rigs.
Stripers are very slow.
White Bass are fair at first light on No. 3 Terminator In-Line spinners, 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies and Spoiler Shads.
Crappie are slow in 14' brushpiles upriver on minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 85 degrees; 1018':
Largemouth are fair at first light in 8'-15' along bluff ledges using a wacky rigged natural Whacky Stick (www.cremelure.com) w/a 4/0 "K" Wacky Hook (www.falconlures.com), 3" Skip-N-Pop topwaters
(www.jdcbaits.com) and Carolina rigged watermelon Skeet Reese creature baits (www.terminatorlures.com). Channel humps on the river and creeks in 12'-20' continue to produce throughout the day using a slow, methodical presentation w/drop shot purple 4" Drop
Shot Worms (www.jdcbaits.com) & C-rigged Snap Back
(www.terminatorlures.com) pump-char. lizards.
Stripers are slow drifting live bait near the dam in 30'-50' or at night on white Spoiler Shads and chrome Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com).
White Bass are fair at night under lights using 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishie.
Crappie are fair at night on minnows.

The shade of boat docks and laydowns is producing fish during the day on 3" or 5" pumpkin seed JDC Craws
(www.jdcbaits.com) pumpkin Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com)tubes and 4" watermelon Ring Worms.
Stripers are fair on 3" Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com) and swimming a white JDC Grub (www.jdcbaits.com).

Crappie are good at night on minnows.
