Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 78-80 degrees; 907 (2' Low):

Largemouth are good to 5 lbs early and late along mainlake points in 5'-12' on a 6" junebug Scoundrel worm (www.cremelure.com), Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com)& grn-pumpkin smoke-red Snap Back tubes (www.terminatorlures.com) on jigheads. Upriver,

white Terminator "Red Series" spinnerbaits , pumpkin JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, shallow running crankbaits and 4" watermelon-pepper Ring Worms worked in and tight to brush and submerged stickups are producive.

Smallmouth are fair over rockpiles in 15'-20' on 3" smoke Strike Grubs (www.jdcbaits.com), watermelon Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs and rootbeer-green grubs on 1/8th oz. jigheads.

Crappie are good in the upper end and river over brushpiles on minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 76 degrees; 824.95':

Largemouth are very good to 6 lbs along boulder rocks and rip rap in 5'-10' of water using grn-pumpkin Texas rigged Snap Back creature (www.terminatorlures.com) baits, wacky rigged motor oil Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) and Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps

(www.rat-l-trap.com). Bass are beginning to show up on creek points early where a Big Eyez buzzbait (www.falconlures.com) and watermelon JDC Skip-N-Pop topwater produces early and late.

Stripers are good to 20" at night around lights and at first light swimming Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com) and white JDC Strike Grubs.

White Bass are good at night (slow during the day) in 5'-12' on 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies.

Crappie are good over brushpiles and under docks on minnows.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 79 degrees; 1014':

Largemouth are good to 6 lbs. early in 5'-12' along laydowns on points on a 1/4 oz. silver shad Terminator "Red Series" spinnerbait

(www.terminatorlures.com), 1/8 oz. Tiny-T buzzbaits, Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and pumpkin Skip-N Pop topwaters (www.jdcbaits.com). Along deeper ledges (6'-15') a grn-pump. 6" Scoundrel worm (www.cremelure.com) on a jighead, 4" watermelon -red fleck JDC Strike Grub and a smoke-blue Super

Tube produces.

Stripers are fair over mainlake humps in 25'-30' from Flag Island to Black Rock downrigging white striper jigs, swimming 3" Spoiler Shads (www.cremelure.com) and drifting live bait.

White Bass are slow on main creek points in 15'-20' with limited topwater action at daylight using clear Rat-L-Top, 2" Spoiler Shads and vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnows.

Crappie are good over brushpiles in 15' on minnows.
