Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 52 degrees; 906.64' (3+' Low):

Largemouth are fair in 10'-25' in submerged timber on mainlake points using Texas rigged 6" green-pumpkin Scoundrel worms,pumpkin Snap Back lizards and creature baits.

Smallmouth are good over rockpiles and along deep water ledges bumping 3" smoke JDC Craws and brown hair jigs with pork strip trailers.

Stripers are improved from Comal Park down lake swimming 3" Spoiler Shads and vertically jigging Pirk Minnows.

White Bass are fair in 25'-30' channels jigging Pirk Minnows, Tiny Traps and Lit'l Georges.

Crappie are fair but mostly small on minnows at the fishing dock.

Channel Catfish fair on juglines.

Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 51 degrees; 1013.04' (7' low)

Largemouth are slow to fair in 12'-25' along ledges and secondary creek points working motor oil Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs,watermelon-red Carolina rigged Snap Back creature baits and JDC Craws on jigheads.

Stripers are good along the main river channel uplake from The Willows vertically jigging Piurk Minnows, swimming Spoiler Shads/Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on RED Bait Jerker hook and drifting live bait.

White Bass are slow to fair in 20'-30' on the outside of mainlake creek points using 2" Spoiler Shads, jigging 1/8th oz. Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows.

Crappie are slow to fair on minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained to clear; 52 degrees; 824.76'

Largemouth are fair in 6'-12' on brushpiles and laydowns pitching Texas rigged watermelon-red Craw Tubes, black-blue 1/4 oz. Terminator Pro Series jigs with pork trailers and 5 inch JDC Craws.

Stripers are fair early along channel turns and creek points on Spoiler Shads and soft jerkbaits rigged on RED Bait Jerker Hooks.

White Bass slow

Crappie are fair undr heated-enclosed boat docks on minnows.
