Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 79-83 degrees; 905.47' (4' low):

Largemouth are fair to 4 lbs. at first light on pearl JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, then tight to trees and bluff ledges in 12'-20' on watermelon Bush Pigs and weightless Whacky Sticks.

Smallmouth are fair early in 12'-25' using Ice Tea Devil's Tongues on drop shots, smoke-red tubes and smoke 4" smoke JDC grubs.

Crappie only fair tight to trees on minnows.

Water clear; 80 degrees; 1010.56' (low): Largemouth are fair at first light in 12'-18' along bluff ledges using , green-pumpkin JDC grubs, green-pumpkin Whacky Sticks rigged on a "K" Wacky Hook (Falcon Lures) and Carolina rigged creature baits.

Stripers are fair drifting live bait from Shaw Island to the dam with sporadic topwater action at daylight on 3" Spoiler Shads Rat-L-Traps and white Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on a red Bait Jerker Hook.

Crappie are fair over brushpiles on minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water stained; 83 degrees; 824.90' (full)

Black Bass only fair in 10'-18' feet watermelon JDC Craws, Carolina rigged watermelon Bush Pig creature baits in brushpiles and wacky rigged watermelon-red Whacky Sticks.

White Bass are good at night on 1/32 oz. 1" Spoiler Shads and Lit'l Fishies jigheads.

Crappie are fair to 15" on minnows over brushpiles in 14 feet.
