Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 64 degrees; 902':
Largemouth are fair to good under cloud cover over brushpiles in 12'-20' of water using 6" purple Scoundrel worms, rootbeer-green JDC Craws on Shaky Head and black-blue Terminator football head jigs.
Smallmouth are good early along bluff ledges and over
rockpiles using blue Robo Worms w/chartreuse tails,
rootbeer JDC Drop Shot worms on drop shots and smoke/
red flake tubes on jigheads.
Stripers are fair at first light over mainlake humps trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers, vertically jigging white bucktail jigs or Pirk Minnows.
Crappie are fair in 10'-15' on white Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water clear; 64 degrees; 824. 89':
Largemouth are very good to 6 lbs in 2'-10' tight to stumps and laydowns & around docks using wacky rigged purple flake Whacky Sticks, purple-bubblegum 1/4 oz. Terminator jigs and watermelon 4" ring worms.
White Bass fair but small at first light in main channels on Tiny Traps and Road Runners.
Crappie are fair in 12'-14' over brushpiles.
