Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 63 degrees; 901.82':
Largemouth are good in 12'-20' along ledges and dropoffs of sloping points using drop shot pumpkin Devils Tongues, Texas rigged black-red flake Gambler paddle tail worms and 4" watermelon Scoundrel worms on 3/16th oz. "giggy" jigheads.
Smallmouth are good to 3.5 lbs early along mainlake points and bluff ledges in 4'-15' using pumpkin Devil's Tongues w/chartreuse tails on drop shots and smoke/red flake tubes on shaky head jigs.
Stripers are fair along river channels and mainlake humps trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on downriggers or lead-line and vertically jigging Pirk Minnows. No reports of catches on live bait.
White Bass are fair but small at daylight.
Crappie are fair in 10'-18' on white Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

Lake LBJ: Water clear; 59-63 degrees; 824.88':
Largemouth are good around stumps and laydowns
on breaklines in 5'-14' and in brushpiles under docks
pitching watermelon-red Big Pig creature baits, watermelon Ring Worms, 1/4 oz. black/blue Terminator Pro Series jigs with craw trailers.
White Bass fair but small at first light in main channels trolling Shad Raps and casting/jigging Tiny Traps or Road Runners to surfacing schools.
Crappie are fair in 8'-12' on Curb's crappie jigs and small crankbaits.
