Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: clear lower-murky upper; 65 degrees; 907.39' (less than 1.3' low)
Largemouth are very good in 4'-10' along breaklines of gravel flats and transition areas of bluffs using 1/4 oz. crawfish Rat-L-Traps, smoke-red flake tubes on jigheads, watermelon-red Scoundrel worms on shaky jigheads, Whacky Worms and watermelon lizards.
Smallmouth are good in 8' to 16' over mainlake points
and along bluff ledges using smoke JDC curl tail grubs, pumpkin Robo worms on jigheads.
Stripers are fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits on down riggers and vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnows and white 1/4 oz. Curb's striper jigs.
White Bass are fair in 10' to 20' vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, casting/jigging 1/8 oz. Tiny Traps and trolling Shad Raps .
Crappie are good around trees in 8' to 16' using live minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs.

Lake LBJ: Water murky; 64 degrees; 824.94':
Largemouth are very good in 3'-8' along stumps, laydowns seawalls, and weedlines w/crawfish Rat-L-Traps, blue/white/chart. spinnerbaits 5" watermelon-red Whacky Sticks and watermelon Scoundrel worms.
White bass are fair trolling Shad Raps and vertically
jigging Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows under birds.
Crappie are very good around brush and laydowns in
1'-3' using live minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs.
