Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 69 degrees; 910.36'
Largemouth are good in 8-15 feet in treelines bank-
shallowin flooded grass, over sloping gravel flats and
breaklines using rootbeer-green flake Baby Brush Hogs,
JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters in feeder creeks and 6"
watermelon-red Scoundrel worms on shaky jigheads.
Smallmouth are good in 5' to 15' along mainlake points
and ledges using rootbeer JDC curl tail grubs, 6"
smoke-red tubes on ball jigheads and Bleeding Shad
Tiny Traps.
Stripers are slow. to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits and Shad Raps.
Crappie are fair to good around submerged brushpiles
along breaklines using Curb's crappie jigs and live
minnows.

Largemouth are good to very good along mainlake points
in 6'-12' on chartreuse/orange belly Fat Free Shad, white and/or watermelon Curb's Erratic jigs (like Chatterbaits) watermelon-red Flukes (weightless early and Carolina rigs later in the A.M.).

Largemouth are good to 5 lbs in 4-12 feet along
docks and breaklines of flats with stumps or laydowns
using watermelon-red Big Pig creature baits, Bleeding
Shad Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigged watermelon-red
tubes and pumpkin JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters.
Crappie are good over brushpiles in 8-12 feet on
minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs.

of flats with flooded grass in creeks and pockets using white Terminator spinnerbaits, Bleeding Shad 'Traps,weightless, wacky rigged green-pumpkin Whacky Sticks.
