Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE LBJ
LARGEMOUTH fair to good, especially at night, in 5'-12'
around lighted docks with brushpiles in creek channels
using a black 1/4 oz. Terminator buzzbait or black single blade Terminator spinnerbait, Texas rigged red shad MagWorm,
or 1/8 pumpkin Curb's jig with matching PIG-CLAW trailer.
After daylight, fish are moving into 12'-20' along breaklines at the mouth of channels. Work a watermelon
Zilla lizard or Creme Scremer worm slowly through brush.
CRAPPIE AND WHITE BASS are fair to good at night under lighted docks on 1/16 white Curb's crappie jigs and pearl or
chartreuse Creme Mini Tubes. CATfish are fair to good on trotlines with live bait.
CANYON LAKE
LARGEMOUTH fair at night and very early along deep bluffs with submerged trees on Creme Scoundrel worms on wacky rigs,
Terminator buzzbaits and Magic Shads. SMALLMOUTH are fair in pockets with 15'-25' of water, holding along ledges. Use
a pumpkin Creme Devils Tongue on a split shot rig, smoke/blue flake Minnie Bucket twin tail grub on 1/8 oz. head or 3" finesse worm. STRIPED BASS slow to fair very early on the surface along main lake points on Spitfires or
Pencil Poppers. After daylight, fish live bait in 30'-50'
along bluffs and main lake points near dam or vertically jig
1 oz. Horizon Pirk Minnows or Curb's Striper jigs over
sunken islands in river channel.
