Galveston Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well, we have experienced a spectacular winter for fishing and flounder gigging here in Galveston Texas. The redfish and speckled trout fishing has been incredible as well as some Giant Flounder!

Most of our specks and reds are coming off of live shrimp under a popping cork, or a live finger mullet Carolina rigged.

Concentrating on ledges adjacent to deep water. Bait is the key. Find the bait, be it nervous mullet, shad or shrimp popping - the fish are in the area.

Flounder Gigging has been incredible with numerous fish over 8.5 lbs! These fish are mainly coming off of sand bottoms, and once again bait is the key as well as tidal movement.

Galveston Bay Fishing Forecast:

February and March will have us gearing up for Galveston Spring Breakers coming down to enjoy some fun in the sun. We will be running trips for Giant Bull Reds, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, and as always the sheepshead will be starting their spawn real soon, and they are a blast to catch and even better table fare!
Target Species:

Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout and Flounder
