Galveston Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Water temps have been rising and spring is showing itself...
We had great flounder gigging trips this past week. One night we saw well over 30 fish. The spring run, I feel - is beginning.
The bay, bayous and marsh are filling up with juvenile reds and puppy drum. With good numbers of 14 to 17 inch drum to be caught as well - which makes for some good fillets.
The jetties are showing excellent signs of what is to come in the months ahead with sheepshead already staging as well as slot reds and some nice specks. Live shrimp are the best bet for right now. The bull black drum run is in the first stages and should be in full force by spring break as well as some bull reds. Cracked crab and fresh shad are the basis of choice for these giants.
Galveston Bay Fishing Forecast:

March will be a great month to be out on Galveston Bay. The sheepshead, bull Drum, flounder, slot reds, puppy drum, and some specks will be the main targets during March.
Target Species:

Sheepshead, Redfish, Black Drum, Flounder, Speckled Trout
