Galveston Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report
August has been remarkable for flounder gigging in Galveston Bay. We have gigged some very, very big flounder that we usually don't see until the fall season. This past week we gigged flounder up to 8lbs. Also, we were asked to film a flounder gigging show for Fox Southwest Outdoors Report with Barry Stokes, and it was a huge success. This will be aired this coming week.
Also, we are having good results on our Fish-Gig Combos.
On these trips we fish for 3 hours targeting Redfish, Trout and Flounder - then at dusk we put up the fishing poles and begin to gig flounder. These trips are a real treat. It gives a little bit of both! We have been catching very nice redfish on these trips. Mainly using live shrimp and live mullet.
