LAKE RAY ROBERTS FISHING REPORT
Lake Ray Roberts is 9 inches over normal level with water temperatures 52 to 56. Bass fishing has been hit and miss lately and is looking like it will be another late spawn like last year. Afternoons have been the best after the water has a chance to warm and we have found 57 degree water temperature late in the day in the back of creeks. Chartreuse and White Booyah boogie bait and spinner baits are working as well as c-rig Yum Dingers and Xcalibur rayburn red XR50 lipless crankbait. We need some more warm weather to really get the fish going.
Lake Ray Roberts sand bass like the warming water temperatures as we have temps in the low 50's on the main lake now. We have been catching most of our fish from Isle du Bois State Park to Wolf Island on the east arm of the lake. Best depth this week has been 30 to 35 feet on humps, points, roads and ridges. Cotton Cordell CC Spoon 3/4 oz. with a Flies-By-Night fly tied 14 inches above the spoon is what we are catching them on. As the water warms the fish will become more active and easier to find biting. Now we are having to do some looking to find fish active. The fish we are catching are holding tight to the bottom and it takes using zoom on your electronics to see them. Anybody looking to fill the freezer, April 27th is the next weekend day I have available but have lots of weekdays in April open.
Have fun fishing,
Tim
