Lake Ray Roberts - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Ray Roberts Fishing Report

October 20, 2007 LAKE RAY ROBERTS FISHING REPORT Lake Ray Roberts is only .50 feet above normal level and water is being released at 344 cfs. Water temperature is 71 to 74 this week and bass and sand bass fishing has been really good. Not much has changed since my last report, still catching largemouth on Heddon Super Spook Jr. in Lake Fork Shad color topwater. Tuesday the topwater bite was on all day and we caught a lot of slot fish including an 8.4oz. Biggest topwater fish I have ever caught. There is still a lot of small fish everywhere on the lake but there is bigger fish in the same areas if you are on them when they decide to bite. The late bite from 4:00pm to 6:30pm has been good for slot fish in the same areas where the little ones bite all day long. When the topwater has not produced we are catching them on 3/8oz.white spinnerbaits and 7.5in. Yum worms in Junebug color and Yum dingers 4" in the same color. All the bass this week have came from shallow vegetation 2 to 6 feet deep. Time will tell what this next weeks cold front will do to these fish but the last cold front really turned the fish on. Sand bass fishing is excellent and the fish are on the structure where they will be for the winter. Easy limits with a few bonus catfish have been happening on every trip. Cotton Cordell CC Spoon 3/4 oz. chrome with a Flies-By-Night jig in sea green color is still catching lots of doubles. We are mainly fishing the east arm of the lake from Isle du Bois State Park to Wolf Island for sand bass. On friday, fishing with Owen and Tanner, we fished for bass early and went for thier fish fry at 10:00am. They had thier limits of good size sandies in less than an hour and when the morning was over they had added 7 nice channel cats to thier catch. We are catching the cats on the slabs while fishing for sand bass. Send me an email or give me a call to book a trip or just talk Ray Roberts fishing. Have fun fishing, Tim
